ABOUT

Focussing on community through glass workshops & outreach classes.

Four people designing and cut their first glass pieces/

Working within the community I see myself as a facilitator.

I listen to the client’s needs and try to meet them in the best way I can through a collaborative process.

My studio is situated in 36 Lime Street studios in the heart of the Ouseburn cultural quarter. I have a well-equipped professional glass studio from where I can offer a range of glass making classes on an out-reach basis as well as in house.

My own creative practice.

I grew up on a farm in Yorkshire and my own work is inspired by nature. I have a particular fascination with boundaries and fences - things that enclose spaces and provide safety for people and animals.

A large part of my practice is supporting and nurturing creativity in others and I enjoy providing a supportive environment where you can develop your own language in glass.

I am currently working on a personal collaboration of seedlings.

Here I have digitally created layered images of flowers, gardens, transferred them into ceramic decals, then fired onto float glass. Creative surprises are introduced when the water-jet cuts through the patterns and images I’ve created, ensuring each ‘seedling’ is a one off, never to be repeated.

The 'seedlings' are designed either to be planted or hung from the wall and can be purchased through my shop.

Watch glass ‘seedlings’ from my collection, being cut by the water jet process as seen in the gallery below.
