Printmaker Theresa Easton moves into 36 Lime Street, sharing a studio space with Sue Woolhouse.
Theresa Easton uses printmaking techniques and processes to create artists books, unique prints, silk screened enamelled glass and printed ceramics. Past clients have included site-specific work in glass, metal and brickwork, Walbottle Campus and currently Gateshead’s Metrocentre. Easton works within the public & private sector, delivering community projects, teaching and commissions,
Moving into 36 Lime Street and sharing studio space with established Glass Artist Sue Woolhouse marks a new stage in the development of Easton’s practice and compliments Sue Woollhouse’s studio glass. Both artists are developing silk-screened enamelled glass for public and private clients. Easton will be delivering a series of new courses in screen-printing & glass, making Artists Books and printmaking.

Screen-printing onto Glass
Dates: 13th & 14th March

Long associated with printed T-shirts, screen-printing is actually a versatile technique. Screen-printing onto glass with glass enamels is a good introductory workshop for beginners new to glass or silkscreen. This workshop will take participants through the process of screen-printing onto glass, beginning with transferring images onto screens, working with glass enamels, printing and firing the glass. Participants will be given A4 size pieces of glass to work with, extra glass will available to buy on the day. Bring a selection of ideas to work from.
Handmade Printed Books
Dates: 3rd & 10th March
Wednesday 6-8.30pm £55

This introductory course to simple printmaking techniques and book binding skills is a great way to create a series of unique Artists Books. Colourful, textured prints, combined with traditional wooden type will form the basis of experimental bookmaking.
Relief Printing
Date: 20th March 11-5pm £65
Places: 8
Ideal for beginners, this course will give you the skills and tools needed to set yourself up with a printing
medium that is versatile and experimental. Working with a wide range of materials including lino, vinyl and wood, the day will explore mark making, printing in colour, printing by hand and the printing effects created using a printing press.
